Orienteering Clubs Performance Logs 2009
- Colour Coded Events :
- Best 8 results to count from 16 Colour Coded and 6 Championships, with a maximum of 5 championships to count.
- Short Course Series Events :
- Best 5 results to count from 8 events.
- Separate Logs for Men and Women in both Colour Coded and Short Course Series.
- Groups:
Individuals competing in groups of two or more, are not eligible for Log points scoring. In the case of a group winning an event, the next individual competitor will be credited with the maximum score for that event.
- Points Values : Refer to the GOC Events & Technical Standards document in GUIDELINES
- For the Ladies Long O and Ladies Mountain Marathon events, however, 1000 points will be awarded to the first lady competitor on the Ladies course, which will be the Blue Course. The log points awarded to the other women on the Blue course will be calculated proportionally to the first woman's time. The men competing on the Blue Course will score proportionally to the male category winner's maximum of 800 points.
Points will be calculated in relation to: for colour coded events, the time of the first eligible individual member of a Gauteng club on the day of the event; for championship events (Gauteng, Western Province and South African), the time of the first competitor who would then be eligible to hold a South African championship in terms of the SAOF rules.
- Age Categories :
The objective of the scoring system is to determine the best Orienteer in the age group, irrespective of the classes these competitors enter in Championship events. Age Title Log Awards shall be made according to the competitors age grouping, where the YEAR of BIRTH (as in Championship events and in compliance with IOF Rules) shall determine a competitors classification at the end of the season :
- Eligibility
Only members of GOC clubs, paid up on or before the date of the event, can score log points and be eligible for log awards.
- Family Log Championship
The log for family championship will be calculated from the Short Course and CC points of the top three members of a family.
For the purposes of this log, a family is defined as GOC members and their immediate family, with at least one junior (M/W20 and under).
